This EXTENDO VENT is an extendable vent that you can literally detach from the wall and place somewhere else to redirect air. It has 2 modes:
The "default mode" allows it to function like any regular old vent. Just move the ball around to change the direction of the air
"extendo mode" can be activated by a simple twist. This disconnects the vent so you can place it anywhere within 8ft of the original vent location
All materials are made in the USA and can withstand high temperatures up to 280F.
The "3inch extendo-vent for High Temp" was originally invented to redirect the hot air from my diesel heater in my camper van to a cold corner. Realistically though, it will work for a variety of camper, rv, and marine applications (i.e. to use your diesel heater as an off-grid hair dryer). It's basically a way more functional version of the regular vents we've all been using!
Versions & Specifications
I currently offer two different versions of the extendo vent
3inch High Temp (you're currently viewing this one)
ball vent & mounting flange - made of high temp fiber-reinforced-nylon. Engineered & manufactured in-house!
8 feet of high temperature collapsible ducting (3in inside diameter) - Collapses down to fit inside the 2ft duct housing
24in flexible canister (4in inside diameter) - flexible to conform to your cabinet shape
4 stainless steel mounting screws
2 stainless steel hose clamps
Duct housing mount - made of fiber-reinforced-nylon and stainless steel zip ties. Used to more securely mount the extendo vent canister inside of a cabinet (optional)
COMPATIBILITY:
Can replace any existing vent as long as you have 5"x5" of surface space, and 4” of volume for the duct to be routed. Both duct and canister are flexible to conform to most cabinet shapes.
Can be mounted to any metal or wood surface (up to 1" thick)
The "3in version for high temp" works particularly well for small diesel heaters such as Espar S2 and similar models.
Works with AC and heat (-40F to 280F), but the high temp ducting is less flexible when cold. The "low temp" extendo vent works better for AC only applications.
